temagami

i opposed logging in temagami under david peterson and i’m still opposed to it. temagami has become even more precious.

Mike Schreiner writes:

‘I’m shocked and disappointed that the McGuinty government would even consider reneging on Ontario’s promise to protect Tegamami.
I thought we settled this issue twenty years ago.
Thank you for taking action earlier this week to support local green jobs and businesses.  We also can’t stand by while the world’s largest old-growth red pine forest is under threat.
The McGuinty government’s plan to remove the forest reserve status from parts of the Wolf Lake Forest Reserve is short-sighted and irresponsible.  Wolf Lake is part of an endangered ecosystem that is estimated to be only 1.2% of what it once was.
What remains of this region should be permanently protected, not opened for mining and commercial logging.
It is not too late to stop this.
We need you to write Premier McGuinty (dmcguinty.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org) and Minister of Natural Resources, Michael Gravelle (mgravelle.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org).  I sent a message to the Premier today on this important issue. Please feel free to use my letter as an example.
Thank you for taking the time to act.  Your efforts make a big difference.’
