more choice but less time

seth godin presents an interesting graph that shows people have more choice but less time; when my papa first came to canada as a waiter, he would give the luncheon customer options, but the customer would say, ‘you decide! i make decisions all day! now it’s lunch, and i have so little time!’

that was 1960! things have really ramped up in the past fifty years! past FIVE years! more choice but less time. explains a lot. not surprising there’s a slow movement afoot. ‘slow down, you move too fast‘ sang simon and garfunkel, but are there brakes on a juggernaut? what about that cliff up ahead? jane? jane!?
